Second Opinion conforms with all patient information and data privacy regulatory requirements in territories where Second Opinion is supported.
If your version of Second Opinion includes the detection sensitivity slider functionality, the colors of the detection bounding boxes indicate the level of specificity and sensitivity of the machine learning models applied in making the highlighted detection. The colors indicate the following sensitivity/specificity parameters:
Blue/Aqua: Indicates detections made with highest-specificity/lowest-sensitivity.
Yellow/Orange: Indicates detections made with moderate-specificity/moderate-sensitivity.
Red: Indicates detections made with lowest-specificity/highest-sensitivity.

Second Opinion detects and measures a wide array of dental features, some of which are displayed to users and some of which are withheld to make it easier see the detections that are most relevant to clinical care. Here are the list of dental features that Second Opinion displays for users.
Second Opinion Desktop is a standalone application that displays AI detections on your radiographs. We are busily working on integrating Second Opinion into a multitude of popular PMS’s and imaging software platforms. Once the service is available for your platform you will have the opportunity to move your service over at no charge.
No. Research has shown that dentists often disagree with one another regarding diagnoses. Second Opinion’s machine learning models were trained using diagnostic data provided by human dentists and radiologists. As such, Second Opinion will sometimes make detections that you don’t agree with. While Second Opinion can provide great value by highlighting areas of interest that you may have missed, you should disregard any detections that you do not feel are accurate. The software is intended to support you, but all final diagnostic decisions are yours and yours alone.
The slider enables you to adjust what detections are displayed based on how much confidence the AI has in the accuracy of its detections.
At 'High', the detections displayed are more likely to be accurate (true-positive detections), but you will see fewer detections and some conditions may not be displayed (false-negative detections). The High setting is a great way to gain maximal assurance of the validity of your findings.
At 'Low', you'll see more detections, but some may be erroneous (false-positive detections). The Low setting is great for ensuring that you haven't missed something.
The 'Med' slider setting splits the difference between 'High' and 'Low'. The Med setting is great for showing your patients the detected conditions in their X-rays.
